Aprons in airport movement areas are high-risk zones for ground operation safety, with dense flight takeoffs and landings, frequent shuttles of service vehicles including baggage tractors, catering trucks and cargo vans, as well as cross-flow of maintenance and ground handling staff. Traditional manual patrols bring many management pain points such as massive blind monitoring zones, delayed detection of irregular operations, inability to globally track vehicle and personnel trajectories, and difficulties in evidence collection for safety incidents, which may easily lead to ground safety accidents including vehicle scratches, staff collisions and non-standard operations.
Our company independently develops a three-dimensional detection system for airport movement area aprons. Supported by a full set of IoT sensing hardware including radar-video integrated devices, edge intelligent gateways and vehicle-mounted processing terminals, the system integrates 3D digital twin, GIS geographic positioning, AI visual recognition and video streaming technologies to build an integrated intelligent safety monitoring platform covering all apron stands of the terminal.
Operating 24/7 to identify service vehicles and maintenance staff on the apron, the system automatically captures violations such as missing wheel chocks, lack of guiding gestures by maintenance crew, driver fatigue and vehicles with unremoved keys, and sends real-time early warnings. Equipped with six core capabilities including global situation overview, vehicle & personnel trajectory tracking, real-time video monitoring, historical video playback and hierarchical management of all equipment, it realizes full closed-loop safety management: intelligent pre-warning before incidents, real-time visual monitoring during operations and multi-dimensional traceability & evidence collection after accidents. The system fundamentally reduces the occurrence of apron ground safety incidents and facilitates the digital, intelligent and compliant upgrading of ground operation management in airport movement areas.
